The company is active in the field of molecular and protein biology markets. Several years ago, they also set up a European office in France. The position is a newly created and the first service position to be located directly in France and as a result offers the candidate the possibility to bring their own creativity and ideas to the role.
The company currently has 70 patents issued and pending.
Above all, they develop technologies and produce tools for sample preparation in hot areas of the life science market such as Next Generation Sequencing and protein extraction directly on tissue samples (pathology), which drives the pace of research and drug development. The technology enables extremely high throughput pre-analytical processes in numerous research applications using their instruments, consumables and reagents. It offers scientists in the fields of genomics, proteomics und chromatin unique competitive advantages.
Their technology is used by the largest and most productive genome centres around the world.
Customers include the world’s leading researchers, universities and pharmaceutical companies.
They are currently looking for a European Field Service Engineer who should be based in France with main focus on France but has also look after customers across Europe.
The employee will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the field service activities of the company instruments. You will be the first contact for technical support questions and will be coordinate and carry out repairs and preventive maintenance on site. The European field service activities also include the installation of instruments.
To monitor and manage the Service customer records for the warranty and service plans for each instrument is part of the job as well as the management of customer contact information.
Support from engineering and manufacturing in the investigation of production and / or design problems with the current instrument inventory is also desired. As well as recommendations for modifications to design and manufacturing procedures learned from the field are expected.
This position reports to the Director of European Operations (based in the USA)
Professional development and opportunities for advancement are given in the future.
A degree in a scientific, technical area is desirable, as well as several years of experience in engineering, manufacturing and/or service environments.
Experience with electronic test procedure, advanced measurement tools, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes are also useful qualities.
Skills and knowledge in relation to the assembly / disassembly of instruments are also beneficial.
The position is home office based but is a field based position.
