A fast-growing and highly respected US-based biotechnology company is expanding its commercial footprint into Europe and is looking for a Business Development Director to lead this strategic transition.
This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven, science-first company known globally for its contributions to preclinical research, particularly through the production of ultra-pure monoclonal antibodies trusted by top academic institutions, BioPharma and life science organizations worldwide.
About the Role
This newly created role will be pivotal in driving the company’s transition from a distributor model to a direct sales /Hybrid organization in Europe. As the first commercial hire in the region, the successful candidate will have the chance to build the foundation for long-term success, working directly with leading researchers, CROs, and biopharmaceutical innovators.
The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on business development—perfect for someone who thrives in a high-impact, entrepreneurial environment and is eager to shape the future of a company making a tangible difference in biomedical research.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead direct sales efforts across Europe, managing both new and existing key accounts.
- Partner with biopharma, academia, and CROs to expand adoption of a trusted portfolio of research-grade antibodies.
- Support the transition of established customers from distributor-based engagement to direct partnerships.
- Provide strategic market insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the customer experience.
- Represent the company at scientific events and conferences across the region.
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years of business development or sales experience in the life sciences sector.
- A track record of growing accounts and delivering on ambitious commercial targets.
- Deep understanding of the needs and workflows in academic research or drug discovery environments.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently and build new markets.
- Fluent in English; French or German is a strong plus.
- Willingness to travel within Europe.
