A highly specialised international scientific company is seeking a Head of Business Development & Sales (m/f/d) to support the next phase of its international growth.
The company operates at the interface of chemistry, biology, and applied research, serving customers across pharmaceutical research, biotechnology, CROs, academic research, and other highly technical scientific markets. With an established international customer base and a strong scientific reputation, the organisation is now looking to strengthen its commercial and strategic business development capabilities.
This position combines strategic market development with hands-on commercial responsibility. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing international customer relationships, and shaping future growth strategies in close collaboration with senior management and scientific teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing new international business opportunities and application areas
- Building and expanding relationships with scientific and commercial stakeholders
- Managing and developing selected strategic accounts
- Working closely with internal R&D and technical teams on tailored customer solutions
- Supporting and coordinating a small internal sales support function
- Contributing to the further development of commercial processes and market strategies
The company is seeking candidates with:
- A degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related scientific discipline
- Several years of experience in scientific sales, technical sales, or business development
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact credibly with scientific stakeholders
- A self-driven, entrepreneurial, and highly hands-on mindset
- Experience within scientifically sophisticated or regulated markets
📍 Ideally candidates should be located within commuting distance of Braunschweig. However, candidates based elsewhere in Germany may also be considered, provided that regular and consistent presence at the headquarters can be ensured.
